Tattoos, Performances and a wall full of MY ART

The second time exhibiting my art and the first time at an event of this skale! The international Ink&Cutz Convention 2022 in Groningen hosted 100+ Tattoo Artists from around the world, held multiple sick performances including famous rappers, fire dancers and a freakshow. Among all these celebrated creatives, I was invited to be one of the participants for their first Fine Art section at the convention. It was an honor to stand among all these different kinds of artists and it was a great success!

Most people came to the event to be tattooed but many walked by our art stands anyway. Several people took free stickers when they passed by, others asked for a business card, some I actually had lovely conversations with. They mentioned how much life they saw in my brushstrokes, how they could feel the empowering energy radiate from the images and that my poetry spoke to them. Especially the performers were attracted to my work. One bought 3 poem prints and a digital print to keep and gift to friends. Even one of the men in the freakshow, was so impressed with the ‘ArtHeart’ canvas that he wanted me to recreate it triple the size for him! Later, one of the young guests roaming around, loved my ‘Break Free’ poem so much that she purchased the original artwork along with it!

This experience taught me many new lessons and with the number of people who admired my work, felt a deep connection with a piece or took something home, I’d felt so proud of how much I’d grown in the last year and from this experience alone. Passerby’s seemed to connect most with the pieces I’d created to empower; those are my favorites too. I’m very excited to start painting many more canvasses with all the inspiration I gained from this successful experience! Hopefully I’ll see you at the next one!

Want me at your event? Send me an email and we’ll make it happen!
