A Collection To Transform Canvasses, Homes and Hearts

My first exhibition in collaboration with 10 other creatives and organised by artist and coach Anne-Claire Fleer. I presented 18 pieces of art of different sizes and varying in almost 10 different styles. I’d been creating inconsistently for about two years and more steadily in the last 6 months, these art pieces were from those combined periods. Though still very much experimenting at his stage, I noticed a red thread of a persistent search for balance in each piece. Balance between organised and messy, planned and spontaneous, limited and free. A harmony I try to build in art as well in life.

This collection is all about 'Transformation'. From the old to the new, the inside to the outside and the conditioned to the authentic. In the past year I have mainly focused on self-discovery and the love that blossomed from that for myself and my environment. Experimenting with new interests, I got to know my needs and limits with more compassion and discovered my own strengths. You’ll see an art piece that took a lot of time and detailing, another that I playfully created in half an hour and even one where I released my anger over failed flowers; now a beloved piece! With each project I encountered myself again. I learned to confront my expectations and look for childish pleasure again and again.

There’s already so much beauty on this little floating planet and I realized, that with my expressive creations and by being my authentic self (or at least in pursuit of it), I can only add to that. It may inspire others to do the same in their own way. My hope is that you, too, will go through a transformation, no matter how small. That you are inspired by only 1 of these artworks or it releases an emotion in you that teaches you something new about yourself. As soon as we accept, respect and love ourselves, we grant our environment the same liberty and we can experience our true and collective potential. So this collection represents not only my transformation, but the transformation of us all. (Cheesy, I know, just go with it).
